As the title suggests, this piece is reminiscent of an early 20th century slinky and sophisticated night club blues, but here extended and developed into a substantial piece, including a scintillating little cadenza for the pianist. It’s a favourite amongst Hellewell’s pieces for both pianists and listeners.
